PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — State and community leaders celebrated the groundbreaking of a new project to renovate the Wanskuck Boys & Girls Club facility in Providence on Friday.

The $10.5 million renovation is designed to increase the Branch Avenue building's capacity for more children and families.

The upgrades are divided into phases for each of the building's three floors. Officials said they will help teenagers develop skills for future careers, prepare children for education, and increase child care access for working families.
