GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Officials said a Greenville County jury convicted a man of his role in a deadly shooting that occurred in 2022.
Tyberious Pyles, 25, was found guilty of murder, first-degree burglary, armed robbery and conspiracy.
Pyles snuck into Joseph Clarke Smith’s apartment on Edwards Road on Jan. 22, 2022 to confirm the victim was sleeping.
Investigators said Pyles left and came back about 90 minutes later to break in with co-defendants Dream Adams and a 15-year-old suspect.
The suspects were armed with handguns and wearing face masks, officials said.
During the robbery, Smith was shot twice and died from his injuries.
Pyles ran away from the scene after stealing some of Smith’s’ belongings.
He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
