ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A young mother is facing a rare fight in the form of cancer.

Chrissy Derrick was around 25 weeks pregnant when she was diagnosed with a rare form of Sarcoma cancer.

Derrick said in January, while pregnant with her third child she started having chest pains. Derrick said doctors dismissed her pains.

Derrick said during genetic testing for her child, tests pinged abnormal, which led to her full diagnosis in March.

The family’s baby, Axel was born early so she could start treatment. Axel spent over 80 days in the NICU.

Derrick now has a massive tumor on her lungs, cancer through her pelvis, spine and now possibly brain. She was given six months to live, a mark she just passed in September.
