Frontier Airlines is launching nonstop service between Reno and Phoenix, part of several routes that the airline has added as struggling rival budget carrier Spirit Airlines grapples with another bankruptcy.
The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority announced early Friday morning that Frontier will be launching nonstop service for Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) on Nov. 22. The flights will operate two times per week.
The nonstop Reno-Phoenix route will be the third flight offered by Frontier at the Reno airport since the airline re-entered the market earlier this year in March. Frontier also offers flights from Reno-Tahoe International Airport to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas and Denver International Airport (DEN).
