DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - A motorcycle rider was arrested after driving over 140 mph on I-25, according to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
A CSP aircraft reportedly saw the motorcycle traveling extremely fast on northbound I-25 between Larkspur and Castle Rock at 2:45 p.m.
Troopers flying in a Patrol airplane first spotted the motorcycle near milepost 171 in the toll lane, estimating speeds over 100 mph. Troopers then saw the motorcycle weaving across double solid white lines to pass other vehicles near milepost 180 before rapidly accelerating.
Using the aircraft’s VASCAR (Visual Average Speed Computer and Recorder) system, the motorcycle was clocked at 142 mph in a posted 75-mph zone and as it entered a 65-mph construction zone.
