DETROIT. (WILX) - Detroit has placed closer Kyle Finnegan on the 15-day injured list with a right adductor strain.

The move is retroactive to Sept. 1 and stems from an injury when Finnegan was warming up in the bullpen on Wednesday. The right-handed pitcher was acquired by the Tigers in a trade from the Nationals back on July 31.

Finnegan has been stellar for Detroit and has yet to allow a run in his 14.1 innings of work. Will Vest is expected to take over the closer role for Detroit, with both Tommy Kahnle and Tyler Holton going in the 8th inning.

Tigers’ outfielder Parker Meadows was activated off of the 10-day injured list and will play in centerfield for Detroit tonight.
