A vascular surgeon in the U.K. who was accused of fraudulently having his legs amputated as part of an insurance scam and to satisfy a sexual fetish is behind bars.
Neil Hopper, 49, of Truro, Cornwall County in England, was sentenced to two years and eight months after pleading guilty to two counts of fraud and three counts of possessing extreme pornography, the BBC reported.
Hopper had complained about pain in his feet and was falsely treated for sepsis before he had both his legs amputated in 2019, a court heard Thursday.
