GARNER, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man arrested after a high-speed chase on Friday that spanned two counties and ended in a crash made a first court appearance on Monday.
Murad Terrall Taylor, 38, of Garner, told the judge he would hire his own attorney and received a bond of $75,000.
The crash happened on Jones Sausage Road at Auburn Church Road. Authorities said the wreck, which involved at least three vehicles -- two SUVs and a tractor-trailer -- happened after a pursuit that started in Johnston County.
According to an arrest warrant, the Johnston County Sheriff's Office said Taylor fled after a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop at Cleveland Road and Veterans Parkway. The deputy noted that the car he was trying to stop was going at least 15 mph over the legal speed limit and ran a red l
