SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - It still appears likely that we will see some strong to severe storms over mainly the northern half of the area Friday night. The Storm Prediction Center indicates that we have a level one marginal severe weather risk. Here is the latest on storm timing and strength.

Biggest concern? Wind: The loop of the HRRR model above updates every hour and provides an 18-hour update. It shows that the strongest storms will likely be this evening over the northern third of the area, north of the AR/LA state line. The storms will probably be strongest where they arrive soonest, over the Northwest corner of our area. Here, a few isolated gusts of 60+ mph will be possible.
