(FOX40.COM) — Representative Ami Bera wrote a letter on Wednesday to address the surge of mail theft and vandalism in Sacramento County neighborhoods to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Chief Postal Inspector Gary Barksdale.

In the letter, Bera asks Bondi and Barksdale to establish a joint Task Force to address mail theft and widespread vandalism by removing cluster mailboxes in the Sacramento region. Bera said that he has worked "closely with USPS and USPIS."
Despite his efforts so far, Bera said "mail theft and vandalism continue unabated across the Sacramento region.”
