SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - While some areas of the state saw a drier-than-normal August, Northwest Iowa’s drought conditions were normal.
According to KTIV’s Weather Team, Sioux City saw 4.01 inches of rainfall in August, which is considered normal for the month.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says overall conditions remained stable statewide.
“According to the current U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) less than five percent of Iowa is experiencing abnormally dry conditions.” said Iowa DNR.
Jessica Reese McIntyre, a DNR Environmental Specialist, says the state is experiencing largely normal conditions.
