An arrest has been made in an on-campus shooting at Troy University.

The Troy University Police Department has arrested a 16-year-old male, of Troy, in connection with the Saturday night shooting that injured a female student.

The student was shot in the foot and taken to the hospital where she was treated and later released.

The suspect, whose identity was not released due to his age, was arrested Friday by officers with the Troy University Police Department, City of Troy Police Department and the Gulf Coast Regional Task Force.

He is currently being held in the Pike County Jail.
