BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - After a lifetime spent wondering “what if,” one man’s dream was answered, but not without a story of hard work and perseverance. Now, he’s landed a spot in the LSU history books and the Golden Band from Tiger Land.
66-year-old Kent Broussard’s story starts when he first laid eyes on the band at nine years old.
“The first game we went to was in 1968. That’s where the memories started. But the memory that I remember was not only the football game but the band,” Broussard said.
Life took Broussard in another direction.
“Of the 106 folks I had in my graduating class, 26 went to college, 25 went to Southeastern. We all kinda followed the same path,” Broussard said.
