LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Dreams are one of the many foundations of childhood. No matter how big or small, kids are encouraged to chase what sparks their interest.
For former McNeese student-athlete Bailey Tillman, she was drawn to volleyball.
“My whole family was pretty athletic. My dad was in the NFL, he played football. My mom ran track, and so I felt like it was one of my callings to play sports and I feel like if I didn’t I was like the odd one out,” explained Tillman. “Volleyball just brought me joy whenever I touched the ball.”
At 8 years old, she started playing at the club level with older girls who dreamed of one day going pro.
