KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Drivers in Kershaw County should prepare for delays next week as the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) begins temporary lane closures on the I-20 Westbound bridge over the Wateree River.
The continuous left lane closures will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, and last until noon on Thursday, Sept. 11. Crews will be working between mile markers 96 and 98 to complete bridge rehabilitation.
SCDOT is urging drivers to slow down, pay attention in the work zone, and plan ahead using the 511SC App or 511sc.org . Motorists are advised to expect delays and consider alternate routes while the work is underway.
The closures are part of ongoing infrastructure improvements aimed at keeping South Carolina’s bridges safe and reliable.
