COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities have announced a second arrest in a deadly Columbia convenience store shooting that happened in August.

The Columbia Police Department said that 29-year-old Tyrell K. Shephard was arrested on Sept. 4 and charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His arrest followed a shooting that happened on Aug. 22 at a BP gas station at 3213 Farrow Road. Officers arrived around 10 p.m. and found the victim with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
