KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - The death of an inmate in Wyandotte County has been deemed a homicide after the coroner found signs of suffocation.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced on Friday, Sept. 5, that it has declared the death of Charles Adair at the Wyandotte County Detention Center to be a homicide.

Law enforcement officials noted that Adair, 50, had been in the Wyandotte County Detention Center for a single day after his arrest for failure to appear on multiple traffic violations - all misdemeanors.
