Redlands school employees tour old packinghouse that will be new headquarters

It was peek at the past and a look at the future.

Redlands schools’ food service employees recently toured an old packinghouse in town that will someday become its headquarters.

The Redlands Unified School District’s Child Nutrition Services department scouted the historic Redlands Foothill Groves packinghouse on Ninth Street. The facility, which opened in 1924, was the last packinghouse in Redlands as well as in San Bernardino County.

Department leaders held their annual meeting at the location but invited employees along.
