CHICAGO (WLS) -- Tamron Hall kicks off season seven of her hit show on ABC7 Chicago this Monday afternoon.

The host was just back in Chicago , which she called home when she was a broadcast journalist.

Hall joined her longtime pal Hosea Sanders to talk about where she's been, and where she's heading: full steam ahead.

"I'm doing great; I am doing so good. It's such an exciting time in my life. My son is about to be in first grade, can you believe it?" Hall said. "I'm always full of gratitude. But, as I'm approaching my 55th birthday, I'm just happy, I really am."

She said walking down the street in Chicago was energizing for her.
