CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Former Milton Police Chief Kyle O’Dell has filed an injunction in the Cabell County Circuit Court against the City of Milton and its mayor Shane Evans.

The injunction asks the judge for a public hearing regarding O’Dell’s termination as police chief, and for the judge to prevent Milton from hiring another police chief until that hearing is held.

Citing West Virginia State Code, the injunction claims that O’Dell was improperly interrogated by the mayor and two councilmembers ( W. Va. Code §8-14A-2 ), and then was illegally fired before having a public hearing regarding their termination ( W. Va. Code §8-14A-3 ).
