CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Local police reported they have recently caught adults driving while high on a dangerous drug that’s being sold in stores as a legal product.

Nitrous oxide is sold legally for baking and cooking and used in whipped cream.

It’s known as laughing gas and whippets.

You can also find it under brand names like Miami Magic, Baking Bad and Galaxy Gas at gas stations and vape shops.

19 Investigates uncovered adults abusing nitrous oxide, leading to car crashes here in northeast Ohio, according to police.

On August 21, in an east side suburb and a west side suburb, two crashes were a result of drivers abusing nitrous oxide, according to reports.

The first incident happened in Westlake outside of a salon on Center Ridge Road.
