PALM COAST, Fla. (WFLA) — Deputies were called to rescue a man on Aug. 28, after he had been lost in Florida marshland in the dark for more than an hour.

Body camera video released by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office shows a deputy and commander wading through Princess Place Preserve in search of him.

The man had gotten lost following heavy rain, and it was due to the poor weather conditions that the agency drones were also delayed.

The sheriff's office said they retrieved the man's GPS coordinates from the initial distress call, which allowed them to locate him and come to his rescue on foot.

According to the sheriff's office, the missing man was in waist-deep water when they found him.
