Heriot’s will aim to become the first side to win back-to-back Scottish cricket grand finals when the newly crowned East champions tackle West counterparts, Clydesdale, at Carlton’s Grange Loan ground on Saturday (September 6), starting at 11am.
In a repeat of last year’s final Heriot’s will be aiming to retain the Willie Morton Trophy named in memory of a former Scotland and Warwickshire all rounder who sadly died a few years ago.
However, Heriot’s will have to overcome any hangover from a surprise Scottish Cup final defeat by the same Clydesdale opponents last month.
Hiatory is on the Capital team’s side; since the match was inaugurated in 2012 only Ferguslie have taken the trophy back to the West of Scotland.
It has been a particularly good season for Heriot’s too having wrapped up
