EUGENE, Ore. - Starting Sunday, the intersection of High Street and Sixth Avenue will be closed, impacting key routes including the Sixth Avenue off-ramp from Coburg Road.

According to the City of Eugene, the closure beginning on Sept. 7 will support the expansion of the wastewater system to accommodate new downtown developments. This project, initially designed to keep one lane open, now requires a full closure for driver safety. Crews will work continuously to complete the work by Sept. 12.

Drivers on Coburg Road are advised to use East 3rd Avenue, East 8th Avenue, or Broadway to head west. Those on Hilyard from Franklin Boulevard should turn onto East 8th Avenue or continue onto Broadway. Sidewalks will remain open for pedestrians, while cyclists are encouraged to use Pearl Street and
