HILLSBORO, Texas — The Hillsboro Department of Public Safety is investigating a high-speed crash that occurred early Friday.

Police say a driver was seen speeding on Interstate 35 by a Sergeant with the Hillsboro Department of Public Safety Traffic Unit at 11:21 a.m. The Sergeant had pulled over someone else and was on the shoulder when the car sped past.

The officer called for additional assistance to slow down and stop the speeding driver. The driver exited the highway and started traveling northbound on Abbott Avenue. The driver was speeding at 150 MPH while attempting to get away from law enforcement, according to the Hillsboro Department of Public Safety.
