CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) – Police in Clovis are searching for two suspects following a shooting incident involving a motor vehicle early Monday morning.

According to the Clovis Police Department, officers responded around 2:39 a.m. on Sept. 1 to reports of gunfire on West 9th Street between Delta and Beta Streets. A resident told dispatchers his truck had been shot. When officers arrived, they found both the vehicle and the home had been struck by gunfire.

Detectives later identified a suspect vehicle and developed leads that connected 19-year-old Jerimiah Bayless to the incident. A search warrant was served at Bayless’ residence, where officers seized multiple firearms, including a pistol equipped with a “switch” — a device that converts a semi-automatic weapon into fully automatic fire.
