Authorities in Taunton, Massachusetts, are searching for the person who shot a man who was admitted to a hospital Thursday evening.

Taunton police said the victim, a 24-year-old man, arrived at Morton Hospital suffering from life-threatening injuries. Investigators did not say how he got to the medical facility.

The man was stabilized at Morton Hospital before being flown by medical helicopter to an unnamed trauma center in the area, police said.

Investigators determined that the shooting happened on Granite Street in Taunton and that the incident was not random.
