SHREVEPORT, La. — The 14th annual OUTnorthLa Film Festival opens Friday at the Robinson Film Center in downtown Shreveport.

The festival, hosted by PACE (People Acting for Change and Equality), highlights stories of resilience, love, struggle and joy while using film to educate and entertain.

Opening night will feature A Nice Indian Boy , starring Jonathan Groff of Hamilton fame. The film tells the story of an introverted doctor whose relationship with his white boyfriend sparks culture clashes within his traditional East Indian family.

Following the screening, local physician and filmmaker Dr. Jaya McSharma will host a Q&A with Shreveport native Clayton Critcher, a UC Berkeley professor of business and psychology.
