SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - At the Bird Key Yacht Club on Friday, the Sarasota Police Department put their tactical skills to the test during training with explosives.

The building used is in the middle of a planned demolition, so the yacht club offered the space to the police department for these exercises, Sgt. Dustin Luciano told ABC7.

SWAT teams blew open multiple doors with explosive devices, resulting in loud noises and smoke coming from the building. The neighbors on Bird Key were warned about the disturbance before it began.

A special four-legged team member was invited to partake in the training. K-9 Butch has just finished certification.
