REMBERT, S.C. — For decades, some Sumter County residents have been stuck navigating private roads that are nearly impossible to travel, especially in an emergency.
Now, county leaders are taking a major step toward fixing that.
At its latest meeting, Sumter County Council held the first reading of a new ordinance that would create a grading and scoring system to evaluate and prioritize private road repairs, with emergency access being the top priority.
