TOLEDO, Ohio — The city of Toledo is in the running to receive a national grant to host live music events, but it needs the public's support to get it.

Voting for the Levitt Music Series Grant, which would give Toledo matching funds of up to $120,000 over the next three years to run community-driven outdoor concerts, opened on Friday and runs until Sept. 15.

The city said in a press release that if it wins, that means a "free, neighborhood-centered music series" at four Toledo parks — Danny Thomas Park, Junction Park, Glass City Metropark and Promenade Park — starting next year.
