TOLEDO, Ohio — Workers at Libbey Glass are heading into their 15th day on strike , making it one of the longest labor disputes the company has faced since 2016.

"We have busted our backs, sweat and tears, whatever you want to call it, and brought this company out of bankruptcy," said Jason Voorhees, a member of the United Steel Workers International, which represents employees on strike at the Toledo-based glass manufacturer.

Voorhees is talking about when Libbey filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020.

"We brought them out of that, we did, steel workers did, the IAM [International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers] did and we demand a fair contract," he said.

Workers say issues like mandatory overtime, rising health care costs and wages remain unresolved.
