Interstate 90 approaching Issaquah and Interstate 405 in downtown Bellevue will lose some lanes to construction projects this weekend, likely clogging freeways for a couple of miles.
Work at either site could be canceled by wet weather. The forecast calls for a 50% chance of rain.
Westbound I-90 will narrow to a single lane from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, until 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, for bridge repairs in Issaquah. Concrete pavement, waterproof parts and expansion joints built in the 1970s will be replaced. This is the first of four September disruptions.
Some daytime single-lane closures in nearby Preston will occur at mileposts 22 to 20 for bridge inspections. Eastside traffic snarls this weekend Sources: Esri, Washington State Department of Transportation (Mark Nowlin / The Seattle
