LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - September is Hunger Action Month. It’s a national campaign to raise awareness and inspire action to end hunger across America, and a local food bank is on a mission to make sure that no person, young or old, goes hungry.

However, Dare to Care Food Bank said recent cuts to federal funding are impacting its ability to serve the community. As of July, the non-profit has lost 400,000 pounds of food. This affects Dare To Care and the hundreds of partners they work with.

“When you have people that are already struggling, now all of a sudden you’re limiting SNAP benefits. On top of that, the pantries are getting less food, so just all of it’s kind of compounding to be a pretty serious issue for people who were already in a bad place to begin with,” Exodus Family Ministr
