TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Emotional statements filled the courtroom Friday as family members of five crash victims and the woman responsible for their deaths spoke before a judge. The crash occurred southwest of Tucson in 2024, and the woman has now been sentenced to 30 years of supervision.
"I get up every morning and I'm home alone and I cry and I scream. They were taken away from us!" said a relative of the five people killed in the crash.
Malyn Pavolka, the woman who pleaded guilty to causing the crash, expressed her remorse.
"I'm truly and absolutely sorry. I never meant for it to happen," said Pavolka.
