PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) - A push by one of New York’s congressional lawmakers to create more manufacturing jobs.
Democratic U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand says $350,000 will make its way into the appropriation’s bill for the North Country’s advanced manufacturing skills training program.
She made the announcement in Plattsburgh at Alstom this afternoon.
Alstom is known for building thousands of manufacturing commuter cars that are used by the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority.
She says the funding would help train and prepare the next generation of workers.
