PISCATAQUIS COUNTY, Maine — A telecommunications worker from Connecticut was rescued after becoming stranded overnight on a cliff ledge while working on Soper Mountain in Maine.

Maine Game Wardens and members of the Maine Association of Search and Rescue Technical Rescue Team brought down 51-year-old Chad Wilcox of Woodstock Valley on Friday afternoon.

On Thursday, Wilcox had hiked with two coworkers to service communications equipment but became separated and stuck on a ledge with a vertical drop. His coworkers could hear him but could not reach him, and he contacted his employer through satellite text.
