COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia Metropolitan Airport soared to a high of 94 degrees on Friday. This is the first time this week temperatures cracked the 90-degree mark.
A weak surface trough moved through South Carolina earlier in the day, as a cold front is pushing in from the Mississippi Valley.
While this setup didn’t produce much rain Friday, with only a few isolated showers and storms, it’s setting the stage for increasing rain chances through the weekend .
Saturday will start off mostly clear with morning lows near 70 degrees. It will be a bit humid but at least the morning temperatures will be a degree above the early September seasonal low.
This will be the first time this week that the morning low won't be in the lower 60s.
