MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tech giant Google has confirmed to ABC24, in a joint statement with Entergy, that plans for construction on a data center in West Memphis, Arkansas, are underway.
The release did not say how much the facility is expected to cost, however, officials from Google did state that the company will cover the cost of powering the facility, with solar power options, as well as other, more efficient energy sources also being considered.
"We look forward to engaging with the West Memphis community and will be sharing more details soon," said Google's Regional Head of Data Center Public Affairs, Laurel Brown.
