For the first time since 1983, the Northrop Bruins are 3-0.
Northrop scored the final two touchdowns in a raucous, back-and-forth 25-16 win over North Side at Spuller Stadium on Friday night. The Bruins are now the only undefeated team left in the SAC. To earn that distinction they had to overtime a 10-7 halftime deficit against the Legends (2-1), who were the only other team that came into league play with two victories.
“They just played together as a team. It’s a brotherhood. They came together,” Northrop coach Quentin Bowen said before thrusting senior Jerquaden Guilford, who scored two second-half touchdowns, in front of reporters.
The Bruins now have as many wins this season as they did in 2023 and 2024 combined.
“It feels great, I’m going to celebrate with the guys, and then it’
