HANNA CITY ( 25News Now ) - A nearly 200-year-old antique rifle that was stolen earlier this year has been returned to Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City.
A release from the park said the historic 36-caliber muzzle-loading percussion cap rifle was returned thanks to tips from the public as well as the efforts of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office.
No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
“This rifle has been part of Wildlife Prairie Park’s heritage for over four decades,” said Roberta English, Chief Executive Officer of Wildlife Prairie Park. “Its recovery is a testament to the strength of our community and the value we all place on preserving history.”
