MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) — Marlin ISD Lone Star finalist Dr. Brandon Hubbard has announced his withdrawal from consideration for the Marlin ISD superintendency, citing a breakdown in negotiations with the Texas Education Agency and the district’s conservator.
“We have elected to discontinue the negotiations process and remain in the Chilton ISD. Though my heart was to serve, I cannot begin this season by allowing my work and success to be devalued. I truly wish Marlin ISD all the best and will continue to pray for the success of that institution,” Hubbard said.
This comes a day before Johnson was scheduled to officially sign his contract as Marlin ISD superintendent.
