INDIANAPOLIS — The fourth-ranked Cathedral Fighting Irish were hoping to rebound against Cincinnati St. Xavier after being shut out by top-ranked Brownsburg one week ago , but the Ohio-based Bombers had other ideas.

Playing at UIndy's Kiesel Field, St. X got on the board first when senior running back Daniel Vollmer punched it in at the goal line to take a quick 7-0 lead.

However, Cathedral's defense appeared to have something to prove after forcing an early fumble and then sacking senior quarterback Jackson Frey.

Later, Frey fell victim to the Irish's strong defense when senior corner back Zyon Hill picked off St. X's star passer, again swinging momentum in the direction of Cathedral.
