The bookshelves of libraries and homes all over came alive in the playgrounds of Tamworth West and Tamworth Public schools recently.

Fairies, superheroes and wizards mingled with dinosaurs, pirates, cowboys and an array of characters to mark the major celebration of Book Week - the parade .

Organised by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) and running now for 80 years, the aim of Book Week is to encourage children to engage with and enjoy books.

The theme for 2025 was "Book an Adventure!".
