The Tigard football team had to finish out its Week 1 game against Sunset without head coach Todd Crist.

On Friday night, KOIN reported that Crist had to be taken to a hospital after a medical event early in the second half of the Tigers’ home game against the Apollos.

The Tigard football team posted a statement on Friday night after the game ended, indicating that Crist has been released from the hospital and has returned home.

“After receiving medical attention, Coach Crist was released from the hospital and is home resting. The Crist family thanks everyone for their prayers, love, and support. Go Tigers,” reads the post that was shared to X , formerly Twitter.

After the game, the Sunset football team also sent a message to their opponents that Crist was also in their thoughts.
