A funeral for Belinda Sarkodie has been set for later this month, her family said in a statement.
Sarkodie was an innocent bystander, according to police, who was killed on July 11 while waiting for a bus in Hamilton's downtown core.
"Losing her is something we will never fully understand, but even in our grief, we are proud of who she was and we are grateful for the time we had with her," her brother, Richard Sarkodie, said during a vigil for her on July 19.
Over 100 people gathered that day to honour Sarkodie, who would have been 27 years old on Oct. 22.
Sarkodie's funeral will take place on Sep. 20 in Etobicoke. (Submitted by Richard Sarkodie)
Her funeral was set for Sep. 20 at the Lotus Funeral and Cremation Centre in Etobicoke, a neighbourhood in Toronto, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
