This is the time of year when the lingering summer shows us some signs of autumn just around the corner.

The phasing out of summer’s oppressive heat and humidity is a welcome early harbinger of fall. Summer officially ends around Sept. 20, but we will see many more changes before that. With more comfortable weather we will be more likely to take some nice walks during which we will be exposed to many more birds – but only if we watch for and listen to them.
