The Maiden Blue Devils opened conference play on Friday with a 54-36 home victory over North Lincoln.

The key series came in the late third and early fourth quarter for Maiden. After it looked like North Lincoln had the Blue Devils on the ropes, Maiden drove the ball 93 yards to retake a 35-28 lead in the opening moments of the fourth quarter.

North Lincoln had taken a one-point lead moments earlier on a 64-yard touchdown run by Landon Agee. The Knights then recovered an onside kick and drove the ball into the red zone, threatening to put the Blue Devils away. However, Maiden recovered a fumble to set up the 93-yard scoring drive.
