As Newark residents wake up on this Saturday morning, the city finds itself blanketed in warmth, humidity, and the lingering energy of last night’s kickoff of the iconic 24 Hours of Peace anti-violence concert.
At 4:45 a.m., temperatures hovered around 73 degrees at the heart of the event on Central Avenue and South 10th Street, where the city’s community members, performers, and local leaders have come together for a full day of music, unity, and peace-building.
But while the spirit remains high, the weather is taking a turn.
According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog will lift early, leaving behind partly sunny skies that will help temperatures climb to near 90 degrees.
