Week 2 of the Iowa high school football season is in the books.

Just two weeks into the season, some players are already separating themselves from the crowd. And it wasn’t just the quarterbacks who stood out, as players on both sides of the ball – and across the state – made an impact on their games.

Here are 10 of the top performers from Week 2 of the 2025 IHSAA season .

David Fason, DE, Prairie

The Hawks cruised past Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 38-13, on Sept. 5, and Fason more than did his part on the defensive side of the ball. He recorded three sacks against the Cougars, including one on which he forced a fumble.
